The second part of the monograph on Pokuttia is devoted entirely to songs which Kolberg briefly characterized in the introduction. The volume comprises 512 songs arranged into 17 chapters, depending on content and function. These are, among others, historical laments, wooing and love songs as well as orphan, military, harvest, religious and beggars songs. Most of them come from Kolberg’s own records, but some he took from his predecessors, mainly texts published in ’’Ćtienia” in the years 1863-1864.
