The third part of the Pokuttia monograph is devoted to three areas of folklore: dances, beliefs and proverbs. The chapter on dances includes detailed descriptions of dances Kołomyjka, Wertak, Czoban and Serpen, as well as some general remarks about a few other dances. Moreover, there are characteristics of dance music, 102 melodies, and over 600 dance songs. The chapter Supernatural World contains tales of beliefs, accounts on demons and spirits, charms and incantations as well as superstitions and divination. The collection of Proverbs in this volume consists of 661 entries; mainly from the area of Kołomyja. These materials, almost exclusively, come from Kolberg’s field research; whereas in The Notes, at the end of the book, the author supplemented excerpts from literature.
